Morning, Episode 17 of the popular British documentary series The World at War, was transferred with the
typical DiscoVision quality of the non-feature programs. Since the programs were prepared for television broadcast in
Europe, the 16mm source material is well suited for these transfers. However, the transfers are only as good as the
source materials will allow, showing the dirt and grain of the elements. The audio transfer is clear and intelligible,
but is missing all high-ends which gives the program a dull and muted quality. High-frequency speckling is typical,
but is very light for the duration of the program. The rather long running time of side 1 has caused laserlock to
plague playback on some players. As with most DiscoVision programs, the older the player, the better the playback.
